We provide individual, tailor-made History tutoring.
We will be happy to help you with tutoring also in Oldham.
We test the student’s knowledge, and using the results of
placement tests and any other requirements, we prepare a study plan, and online tutoring can begin next week.
Tutoring can have a different focus and also length. One lesson lasts 45 minutes, but some people prefer a two-hour
lesson (90 minutes) or even longer blocks. Courses are always individual, so you don’t have to wait for the
course to open. You can start at any time. The course length and lesson intensity depend on you. Some people
choose the so-called „quick help“ in the form of 5 lessons, and others prefer regular semestral or annual
At School Populo, we can ensure regular tutoring, preparation for important exams and certificates, but we can also help with pre-school preparation or preparation for resits. Whether you need help improving your knowledge of the subject for school or work, or just for your own interest, we are here for you.
We help students with complex topics at school or with homework. We will prepare them for ongoing tests or help catch up with missed topics. We can prepare you for GCSE, A-LEVELS, and other exams.
Together with the methodological centre, our tutors will draw up a study plan for each student and regularly supplement materials for home practice.
Our sophisticated online teaching system offers time flexibility so that you can study from the comfort of your home. Apart from your own computer and connection, you don’t need any special equipment.
Each of our future students has the opportunity to take a free placement test. Based on its result, we will recommend a suitable lesson frequency and length. After each lesson, you will receive
the minutes of the lesson, the topics covered, and the evaluation of progress via e-mail. Parents and students are also informed about each upcoming lesson via an SMS message, which contains
the lesson date and time and the tutor’s name.
Mark was a child, according to the kindergarten teachers, “with no manners”. But everything was a little more complicated. Mark had trouble concentrating because he perceived sequence and succession differently and needed to adjust cognitive function deficits. He was unable to associate his behaviour with the consequences it caused in other people, and he could not select the essential from what he was told. This was then manifested when he had a problem learning the basic number series or understanding that the letters follow one after another according to a given order. Exercises that developed perception, remembering things, and the ability to repeat the exact sequence of what was done were therefore included in the standard teaching of the minimum for enrolment. Rituals and an emphasis on regularity and order were also an important part. Mark made a lot of progress in a month, which many people confirmed. He was admitted to school, and your lessons corrected his deficit and made his first grade start smoother.
My granddaughter started attending tutoring at Populo
Eleanor L., grandmother
My granddaughter started attending tutoring at Populo last year when she was in the ninth grade, and her grades were like on a rollercoaster. The worst was chemistry, and she improved in it a lot. In the second half of the year, we replaced chemistry with Biology and I must say that the progress was evident. In the spring, I arranged a few mathematics lessons for my youngest granddaughter (6th grade), who needed to improve her grades for the report card, and she also improved. It is true that both girls were interested in improving. If there was no interest, it probably wouldn’t be that good. I definitely appreciate the environment – a friendly atmosphere, and tutors who can work with moody teenagers. After each lesson, parents receive on their e-mail an evaluation, but here I have the impression that there is a tendency rather to praise. This year, one of the granddaughters continues attending Populo.
I would like to thank Mr. Martin for the quality preparation, making math for my son more enjoyable.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank School Populo very much for tutoring my son
Mrs. K., mom
I would like to take this opportunity to thank School Populo very much for tutoring my son. Absolutely perfect cooperation, immediate communication, daily reminders of lessons for the next lesson, and student evaluation sent daily. The tutor Catherine is a very communicative, helpful, empathetic, and a good teacher. My son passed the exam without any problems! Thank you very much, and if we found ourselves in a situation where we needed tutoring again in the future, we would definitely choose this school!
Italian lessons at School Populo were a great benefit for me
Italian lessons at School Populo were a great benefit for me. My tutor was kind and inspiring and always well prepared for individual lessons and my questions. I also really appreciated the fact that we could focus on a topic that currently interested me (e.g. preparation for a stay in Rome…). At the same time, I would like to highlight the work of the coordinators, who found me a great tutor and who also helped me plan the lessons. The premises of School Populo are nice. I especially preferred smaller classrooms. I definitely recommend Italian.
Japanese language learning
To learn Japanese, I was looking for an institution that is able to offer me maximum variability of dates at an acceptable price. I found School Populo, which met my needs both in search of the optimal teaching time and acceptable financial conditions. Communication with the institution has always been fast; the performance of the staff in charge of providing a particular tutor was welcoming and correct.
We were very satisfied with chemistry tutoring.
Paige B., mom
We were very satisfied with chemistry tutoring. School Populo provided us with a great tutor who was able to help my daughter with high school chemistry so that she could pass demanding tests and understand the subject. Thank you.
Mom’s story – “edutainment”
My daughter Elisabeth was quite scared of going to school. She cried and had a stomach ache. Just a mention that she was going to start school in September and had to leave kindergarten, and a hysterical attack followed. Although she went through a pre-school preparation, her fears did not disappear. I was desperate for that myself. I didn’t want to go directly to a counselling centre with her, and I found a pre-school preparation on the Internet that offered exactly what Elisabeth and I needed. The nice tutor took away all the phobias and worked up all possible kinks, and after a few weeks, the fear and stress were gone. In addition, her pre-school preparation aroused her desire to learn, and we are no longer afraid of school!!
Mom’s Story – German for the little ones
It always seemed to me that my daughter Mary had a talent for languages. She learned to read in English herself, so I thought about trying to give her a chance to learn the basics of German at an early age so that she would have an advantage in first grade. Pre-school preparation gave her a chance to develop this talent. She did well in German thanks to many fun exercises Mary did with Miss tutor, and also thanks to the fact that no one pushed her. I also wanted to give credit to the “total physical response” method, which has also proved very useful. I started to see the results very quickly when my daughter at home started reading short German fairy tales, picture books, and catching words from fairy tales, which I played on the computer. We are now considering other languages as well because talent should be nurtured from a young age and the Pre-school preparation method works very well!
Thank you very much
I would like to thank your colleague Phoebe B. for a great course and real knowledge and approach!! I am interested in taking her lessons in the future. I think we are more, who are satisfied, she really knows!! Conversations with her were very effective, and please let supervisors know. Thank you.
Christina studied Philology and History. She focuses on modern history and computational linguistics, as well as on the ways to connect these two seemingly incompatible areas. She occasionally plays lacrosse, sometimes ultimate frisbee, and watches sports on television quite regularly. Years ago, she left playing computer games and switched to board games, which every psychiatrist in a woolly turtleneck would certainly call a very nice hobby. Sometimes she writes something for the website of hockey players. Other times writes a review for a board game.
English language, history and art history tutor
Jane focuses on tutoring for admission and secondary school-leaving exams and supports students in preparing for re-sits. She also graduated from university in England with a degree in graphics and illustration. She met wonderful teachers there – thanks to them, she had the opportunity to exhibit her works in London galleries. After eight years of living abroad, she returned home and realized how important it was to come across motivating teachers. She tries to make her lessons funny and targeted and make the lessons entertaining for the students. Understanding and the art of dialogue are also important to her. Since 2012, she has been actively teaching the subjects and participating in various art workshops.

English Literature, English - Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar, Economy, Maths and History tutor
I would describe myself as an enthusiastic and patient teacher. When I was 14 years old I moved to Scotland and lived there for 6 years. After high school studies, I continued to study HND Photography at Edinburgh College. Since 2019 I have been teaching English. I think that learning should be fun, nobody likes boring lessons, so I always do my best to make lessons entertaining.
