English - Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar Tutoring Oldham
We provide individual, tailor-made English - Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar tutoring.
We will be happy to help you with tutoring also in Oldham.
We test the student’s knowledge, and using the results of
placement tests and any other requirements, we prepare a study plan, and online tutoring can begin next week.
Tutoring can have a different focus and also length. One lesson lasts 45 minutes, but some people prefer a two-hour
lesson (90 minutes) or even longer blocks. Courses are always individual, so you don’t have to wait for the
course to open. You can start at any time. The course length and lesson intensity depend on you. Some people
choose the so-called „quick help“ in the form of 5 lessons, and others prefer regular semestral or annual
At School Populo, we can ensure regular tutoring, preparation for important exams and certificates, but we can also help with pre-school preparation or preparation for resits. Whether you need help improving your knowledge of the subject for school or work, or just for your own interest, we are here for you.
We help students with complex topics at school or with homework. We will prepare them for ongoing tests or help catch up with missed topics. We can prepare you for SATS, GCSE, A-LEVELS, and other exams.
Together with the methodological centre, our tutors will draw up a study plan for each student and regularly supplement materials for home practice.
Our sophisticated online teaching system offers time flexibility so that you can study from the comfort of your home. Apart from your own computer and connection, you don’t need any special equipment.
Each of our future students has the opportunity to take a free placement test. Based on its result, we will recommend a suitable lesson frequency and length. After each lesson, you will receive
the minutes of the lesson, the topics covered, and the evaluation of progress via e-mail. Parents and students are also informed about each upcoming lesson via an SMS message, which contains
the lesson date and time and the tutor’s name.
My daughter and I are very satisfied with the tutoring
Leanne T., mom
My daughter started high school and got lost in math from the beginning. School Populo was recommended to us by a school psychologist. My daughter and I are very satisfied, and we intend to continue tutoring until the fourth year.
I have a boy who is 17 and struggles with high school physics
Vicky Z., Matthew's mom
I have a boy who is 17 and struggles with high school physics. I was looking for tutoring but without any results. And then I came across School Populo. It’s true that he didn’t manage to finish the school year, but we’re not giving up. I believe that he will succeed now, thanks to a deeper understanding.
I want to thank you very much for preparing our son for the math exams. You are great to work like this, even during a pandemic. Thank you.
I would like to thank you very much for Annette's preparation.
Cynthia and Joshua P.
I would like to thank you very much for Annette's preparation. She admitted that it helped her a lot. Many thanks to both tutors. And I would also like to thank you for the perfect services, be it lesson substitutions, additional lessons, etc. Just any request or question, everything was handled immediately and to my complete satisfaction.
I would like to thank you very much.
Michelle C., mom
I would like to thank you very much. My daughter Claire attends the 4th year of secondary technical school, and her mid-term report showed “fail” from mathematics. I contacted School Populo. She was provided with tailor-made tutoring, and now, she’s wrapping up the school year with B! Specifically, my thanks go to Miss Lucy J. for excellent tutoring and Ms. Andrea P. for excellent, warm, and helpful communication. I will share my recommendation with others, and maybe I may use the services again soon. I still have a son :-))
You fulfilled our wishes regarding tutoring perfectly
George H., father
You fulfilled our wishes regarding tutoring perfectly, and it involved 6 subjects at the grammar school, which needed to be improved enough over the holidays to pass the resit successfully. Really bravo, it was a great success. It wasn’t for free, but I couldn’t expect it with so many subjects involved.
Mom’s story - correction of deficits
Our son Matthew was supposed to go to school enrolment and was labelled as a “naughty” child. He had trouble learning the basic minimum for enrolment, and he didn’t show much interest in learning. Because I was not satisfied with the approach I encountered in the pedagogical-psychological counselling office, I was looking for a method that would be individual and more human. A friend of mine recommended me School Populo and their pre-school preparation, with which she had a good experience. After a few lessons, I saw the progress and I was glad to have chosen a private institution. Matthew’s approach to school changed completely after a few lessons. He began to write coloured letters and numbers all by himself, syllabify from books and began to show interest in things other than cartoons. I do not regret the investment because this really paid off!
The story of Lucas - Spanish for the little ones
Six-year-old Lucas and I were going on a longer stay abroad, and we wanted our son to learn at least some basics of Spanish. Our boy was in pre-school age, so he couldn't read or write much. Therefore, the classes were approached in such a way that he learned as much as possible. So they prepared a range of fun games, songs, and poems for him, and the tutor spoke only in Spanish. The “total physical response” (TPR) method, which involves the whole body in the lessons and children fix the words by showing them in motion, has also proved very useful. Lucas learned quickly, and we noticed his progress very soon. And because Lucas, of course, had to go to school abroad, we used this method to learn the basics of reading and writing. We were very satisfied, and we can confirm that we really like the individual and intensive approach.
Thank you for your professionalism, friendly approach to individual times of lessons for my daughter
Tutoring with the tutor Leanne K. was at a high level; my daughter improved her pronunciation, acquired knowledge that she would not have received at primary school. It is true that I was surprised by the price per hour, but the discounted package provided by you for a higher number of hours paid off in increasing knowledge and improving English pronunciation and the above-standard approach of your school to the possibility to move the last lessons to the next summer holidays. If we need help with high school subjects, not just English, we will contact your School again.
My granddaughter started attending tutoring at Populo
Eleanor L., grandmother
My granddaughter started attending tutoring at Populo last year when she was in the ninth grade, and her grades were like on a rollercoaster. The worst was chemistry, and she improved in it a lot. In the second half of the year, we replaced chemistry with Biology and I must say that the progress was evident. In the spring, I arranged a few mathematics lessons for my youngest granddaughter (6th grade), who needed to improve her grades for the report card, and she also improved. It is true that both girls were interested in improving. If there was no interest, it probably wouldn’t be that good. I definitely appreciate the environment – a friendly atmosphere, and tutors who can work with moody teenagers. After each lesson, parents receive on their e-mail an evaluation, but here I have the impression that there is a tendency rather to praise. This year, one of the granddaughters continues attending Populo.
Yves is a graduate of the Music Conservatory, from which he deserted to the Theatre Faculty of the Janacek Academy. After graduation he worked as an actor in several theatres in Bohemia and Moravia. Since 1981, he lives alternately in California and Arizona. For some time, he worked as a director of the Radio and as a CEO of an English company. He enjoys teaching English, and it makes him happy. He likes the diversity of students, flexible teaching hours, and enjoys meeting new people. In addition to the school, he is modestly involved in communal politics in the culture at the town hall. Yves is still performing in the theatre and occasionally appears in film or television. His greatest passion is tennis and traveling, to which he devotes all his free time.

I’m looking forward to our lessons together.
Economics, French and English language tutor
Joseph was originally an economics engineer. At present, and undoubtedly in the future years, however, he is completely enthralled by the magic of French. The French language is literally beginning to replace his mother tongue, which would not be a big surprise after years of traveling to France, teaching, interpreting, and translating. With a similar passion, Joseph also does English with a focus on economics and law. In his free time, he is a great lover of French literature and good French wine.

In high school, he was passionate about foreign languages, so he went to teach English wherever he could. Now, in his fifth year and still happily, he continues at School Populo, and passing on his knowledge is a pleasant distraction during his demanding medical studies. He gets on well with both children and adult “eternal beginners” and tries to get the most out of everyone in a fun way. In his free time, he enjoys music, especially piano and keyboards in the faculty band.

Barbara is a student of the University of South Bohemia, the Faculty of Theology, in the master’s program in Philosophy. As a true philosopher (lover of wisdom), she tries to pass on this wisdom to others and helps them develop. She also doesn’t lack the ability to empathize with the needs of others. A tutor simply has to engage and be able to “teach well”, which is sometimes really tricky. Communication between the tutor and the student is equally important. Barbara prefers to spend her time in good company. She likes doing sports – especially fitness, swimming, and cycling.
English language, history and art history tutor
Jane focuses on tutoring for admission and secondary school-leaving exams and supports students in preparing for re-sits. She also graduated from university in England with a degree in graphics and illustration. She met wonderful teachers there – thanks to them, she had the opportunity to exhibit her works in London galleries. After eight years of living abroad, she returned home and realized how important it was to come across motivating teachers. She tries to make her lessons funny and targeted and make the lessons entertaining for the students. Understanding and the art of dialogue are also important to her. Since 2012, she has been actively teaching the subjects and participating in various art workshops.
English language, mathematics and descriptive geometry tutor
Lena started to be part of School Populo’s team in December 2017 as an English and Mathematics tutor. She loves the English language because she loves traveling and getting to know people and their cultures. She also considers mathematics to be a worldwide language that does not need a translation. She graduated from the Technical University, worked in several positions in the industrial sphere, but was still attracted more towards the humanities. She spends her free time reading psychological literature, meeting nice people, listening to music, and everything else that charges her with positive energy and moves her forward.

She loves tea, vanilla ice cream, and aimless wandering through bookstores.

English language teacher
This is Andrew. He likes to learn new things just like everyone else. However, he sometimes feels like he does not know anything, even things he thought he knew. But there would be always something. There is no greater joy for Andrew than to put a smile on someone's face, so he has been acting since he was 10. However, acting is not taught at School Populo, so he had to find another hobby. As a small child, he came into contact with English very often. It was not just a matter of simple communication. He was looking for something hidden in this beautiful language - nooks full of secrets… And he does so to this day.
