SATS Key Stage 1 takes place in May in Year 2. Students do not have a set time for the test and write it under normal classroom circumstances with classmates.
This exam is evaluated by the school in which the student sat for the test. The teacher will use the results to evaluate the student’s development and whether it matches the official national average. The teacher can pass the results on to the parents at the end of the school year. These results, therefore, serve as an illustration of the student's level.
The scoring system is represented on a scale from 80 to 120. Obtaining 100 and above means that the student has reached the required level.
